Game notes

About this world capitals grid

Daily practice: type capital cities, use Hint or Reveal if needed, then replay to strengthen recall.

Daily practice mode

This is a date-based practice Grid: assisted when needed, and focused on building capital-city recall without requiring an account or streak system.

Capital recall focus

This grid trains capital-city recall while still using familiar country facts in the clues. It is useful when learners know countries but need stronger capital associations.

Text-only clues

The board avoids flags, maps, and photos. Every answer is typed as plain text, which keeps the page fast and easy to maintain.

Pairs with country grids

Play it after the Daily Geography Grid or Country First Letter Grid to connect country facts with capital names.

How to Play

  1. 1
    Read both clues

Each cell crosses a country clue with a capital clue. Think about where the country is and what its capital is called.

  2. 2
    Type a capital

Enter one capital city that fits both clues. Spelling is normalized for common punctuation.

  3. 3
    Use Assist tools

Select a hard cell and use Hint or Reveal one. Revealed capitals count as assisted so the result still reflects your own recall.

  4. 4
    Check and replay

Press Check grid to mark correct and incorrect cells. Reset and try different valid capitals to strengthen recall.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I answer with countries or capitals?

This grid uses capital city names only. The clues describe properties of the country that owns each capital.

Are multiple answers accepted?

Yes. Most cells accept more than one capital when several countries satisfy both clues.

Does this use live data?

No. The puzzle uses Eesky's static geography dataset bundled at build time.

How is this different from the Geography Grid?

Geography Grid asks for country names. World Capitals Grid asks for capital cities with crossing country clues.

What kind of grid is this?

This is a daily practice Grid. It refreshes by UTC date and uses the same typed recall, Hint, Reveal, Pick Mode, and Check flow as the main Grid.
